The two discuss books read, politics, social functions, church attendance as well as their love for one another and, eventually, their upcoming marriage. Also in the collection are correspondence to Mary and other family members from various senders.

The correspondence, photographs, business records, church records, and more center around Harry B. Miles and Elizabeth (Thomas) Miles, as well as their children, Harry Budd and Betty J., and other Thomas and Miles family members. From 1916 to 1961, Harry Miles served as one of Somerset County's primary undertakers. The family also played a role in managing the Upper Fairmount Methodist Episcopal Church

The Porter and Kitty Ent Collection contains memorabilia, letters, and scrapbooks from Catherine (Kitty) Hopkins Ent from WWII and their life together afterwards in Salisbury, MD. It includes scrapbooks and memorabilia from Kitty’s sister, Sarah Dryden, and her brother in law, Norman Dryden. The bulk of the collection is photos, letters, notebooks, and memorabilia from Porter’s time overseas in WWII as well as a correspondence course in aeronautical engineering and flight training records. A significant portion of the collection is Kitty’s scrapbook, Pocahontas Oil Co. memorabilia, exchange club directories and correspondence. Also included is some correspondence and a large scrapbook detailing Norman Dryden’s time overseas in WWII. Army insignia, pins, medals, are included separately.
