Stereoscope card collection

Sepia-toned stereoscopic cards depicting images of World War I soldiers on the front lines and in the trenches also included is an image of Georges Clemenceau, Woodrow Wilson and Lloyd George leaving the palace of Versailles after the signing of the peace treaty, 1918; other cards depict a man and woman having a humorous time with an early 1900s laundry system. The cards were produced by the Keystone View Company and Berry, Kelley and Chadwick.

The Sylvia Bradley collection documents her research on the history and culture of the Delmarva Peninsula with materials dating from 1841-1993, with the bulk of the materials dating from 1970-1989. The documents encompass research done by Bradley on the Eastern Shore of Maryland for several of her published histories and articles, including Mardela Springs, Maryland: a History. Documents within the collection include manuscripts on Eastern Shore women during the Civil War, student papers, Berlin Advance newspapers, correspondence regarding Delmarva, and photographs of Eastern Shore cities.

The letters talk of the brothers’ time in the service during the First World War, as well as daily life in the years after and Margaret's travels.

The Life of a P.O.W. Under the Japanese in Caricature

The Life of a P.O.W. Under the Japanese in Caricature was written and illustrated by Colonel Malcolm Vaughn Fortier. Published in 1946, the book contains caricatures drawn by Colonel Fortier while imprisoned in a Japanese P.O.W. camp in the Philippines, from April 9, 1942 to August 20, 1945. The drawings illustrate life as a P.O.W. and include captions to clarify some of the scenes. At the end of the book is a compiled roster of P.O.W.s associated with Colonel Fortier in prison camps. Some names include the soldier's "emergency address" while others detail when that man died and how or where he was buried.
