The Therese Marias Letters were written during the First World War by three soldiers: Peter Redman, Robert James, and Earl Pagenkopf. The letters detail the three different men's experiences in the war. The men were stationed at different posts in the United States and France and wrote their letters to Therese G. Marias, known as Tess, who was from Portland, Oregon. Included with the letters are a few postcards from the men as well as two photographs, one of which is labeled Bernard Houghton.

The Thomas Price collection consists of military and genealogical records accumulated by Thomas Price and dating from 1865 - 2001. It contains recordings and transcripts of interviews with three veterans of the First World War from Salisbury, Md. and records of the 115th Infantry Regiment of the Maryland Army National Guard. It also includes interviews, records, correspondence, photographs, publications and ephemera offering insight into military service during the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. The collection also contains photographs of Deal Island, Md. from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It also includes photographs, publications, and ephemera offering insight into civic and religious life on the Delmarva Peninsula.

It also includes printed articles about locations in this area including Poplar Hill Mansion and the Nassawango Iron Furnace. An article on Beverly Farm House discusses how it almost became Napoleon Bonaparte's final resting place. Most notably is a published poem by prominent Eastern Shoreman, William B. Tilghman about his home in Snow Hill, Maryland.

The papers of Vernon R. Whitely document his life experiences including his trip to the 1939 World’s Fair in New York, time spent in the Civilian Conservation Corps and as a member of the United States Army Signal Service during World War II. Documenting materials include a bound publication from the CCC, photographs and service records from his military service as well as post-war ephemera as a veteran. Materials date from 1933-2006 with the bulk of the material dating from his World War II service, 1944-1945.
Victor Brockenborough Letters

The Victor Brockenborough Letters are a collection of letters written to and by Victor Brockenborough between 1937 and 1946. The letters written between 1937 and 1942 are from Victor's godmother, Victoria Hardy, who lived in Spring Lake, New Jersey and Charleston, South Carolina. Some of the letters from Victoria are addressed to Victor's, Julie Brockenborough. The letters written in 1943 were mostly by Victor's pen pal, Margaret Pray, from Brooklyn, New York, but others were from Victor's twin brother, Billy, and one of his sister's friends, Mabel Skillman. The majority of the remaining letters in the collection were written by Victor to his girlfriend, Effie Shores, from Chicago, Illinois, and date from 1944 to 1946. These letters trace Victor and Effie's relationship from their first letter to their marriage. Contents of the letter include wedding plans, as well as Victor's training as a Naval electrician, his time on base in Hampton, Virginia and Glenview, Illinois, and his eventual discharge. He continued to write Effie after returning home to Corona, New York and she eventually joined him there. Other letters from 1944-1946 are from family member or friends. Included in the collection are photographs of friends and family members along with a comic strip.
Victor Riedel Collection

The Victor Riedel collection consists of a diary, memorandums, photographs, artifacts, and ephemera that document the Second World War experience of Marine Corps corporal Victor Riedel from 1944 to 1946. Riedel's diary, which also partially served as a scrapbook, includes entries from 1944 to 1945, but entries before November 1945 were recorded from a previous diary that was destroyed in a typhoon. He wrote about bombings, kamikaze attacks, and field clean up after planes crashed. Riedel served in the Pacific theater and was assigned to Okinawa, Japan, as well as other Japanese islands. Artifacts include patches, one medal, two Marine Corps pins, and a battlefield relic that is likely a piece of a Japanese plane. Also included are military orders (one regarding treatment of locals), a letter from another soldier, a poem from women, airplane identification aids, and a sketch of leaving Okinawa in February 1946.

The Voyd and Cartha Donoway papers consist of documents related to the death of Sergeant Voyd J. Donoway of Pittsville, Maryland and the post-death, grieving process of his widow, Cartha Donoway. Donoway was killed in action during the Battle of the Bulge on December 25, 1944.
