The printed ballot features five individual nomination party tickets (Democratic, Republican, Prohibition, People's Party and Socialist Labor Party) with nominees such as Elihu Jackson for State Senator, and Thomas F.J. Rider for States Attorney.

The bulk of the material encompasses Ms. Adkins political career when she attended the 1956 Republican National Convention in San Francisco, California. Materials include photographs of Ms. Adkins and noted politicians, newspaper clippings, magazines, and ephemera. Also included are promotional materials from the family business, E.S. Adkins & Company and printed materials about Ms. Adkins.

The Bokal-Cotter collection consists of primarily correspondence from individuals including Mary Avis Bokal, Elizabeth Cotter Bokal (Mary Avis's mother), Paul J. Cotter (Elizabeth's brother), Mary G. Cotter (Paul and Elizabeth's mother), among others, dating from 1894 to 1991 with the bulk of the letters dating from 1942 to 1968. While many of the letters seem to regard family and social events from the Broome County, New York family, Mary Avis Bokal and Paul J. Cotter both lived in Washington, D.C. where Bokal went to American University and Cotter worked in the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee. Also included in the collection are newspaper clippings, unidentified photographs and negatives, postcards, and ephemera that mostly belonged to Mary Avis Bokal.

Documenting records include photographs, official campaign documents, newspaper clippings, and speeches. The meeting minutes from city council meetings April 2007 – April 2011 including legislative, special and closed meetings.

The Papers of J. Millard Tawes consist of the political and personal papers of J. Millard Tawes and of historic Maryland records. The collection documents Tawes’ career as a politician from 1930-1979, including his service as the 54th Governor of Maryland from 1959-1967. It contains speeches, correspondence, photographs, publications and ephemera offering insight into fifty years of state and national politics. The collection includes Tawes’ speeches on the Freedom Riders and on the Cambridge Riots of 1963. It also includes correspondence between Tawes and Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson.
