This collection includes Chinese posters, comic book adaptations, and children's books printed between the 1930s and 1970s, though primarily in the 1960s and 1970s after the establishment of the People's Republic of China. Included are: five small Chinese Civil War propaganda posters from Jiangxi in the 1930s; a 1962 comic book adaptation of the movie about "The Five Heroes On Langya Mountain;" a 1969 university student's English notebook that contains dictation of stories about Mao Zedong and the Communists; a 1970 comic book adaptation of the movie "Tunnel Battle;" a 1970 children's book entitled "The Little Red Guard;" a 1972 children's book entitled "Two Grenades" about the Vietnam War; and a 1978 comic book adaptation of a movie about Dr. Norman Bethune.

The Cuban Propaganda Poster Collection documents Cuban politics and their propaganda campaign against racism and support of solidarity with international groups such as those in Vietnam, South Africa, Guatemala, Palestine, and the Black Panthers. This collection consists of 60 color reproduction posters, reprinted in 2005, by the Organization of Solidarity with the People of Asia, Africa and Latin America. The posters include topics such as the Castro Revolution, Vietnam and Latin America during the Cold War, Angola propaganda art, Puerto Rico Independence, Anti-Apartheid propaganda in Zimbabwe and South Africa, socialist propaganda in Africa, Guatemala solidarity, Palestine solidarity, and African American Civil Rights.

These two fraktur birth and baptism certificates, written in German, were created as ornamental records in Berks County, Pennsylvania. The first record was done for Cläre Elisabeth Folck, daughter of Moses and Lusette (Boÿer) Folck, who was born on 23 December 1865 in Fleetwood in Berks County and baptized in 1866 by Pastor Lampe. The second record was done for Mende (Amanda) Althaus, daughter of William and Elisabeth (Guldin) Althaus, who was born on 14 December 1844 in Cumru Township, Berks County, and was baptized in April 1845 by Pastor A. Herman.

These two fraktur birth and baptism certificates, written in German, were created as ornamental records in Lehigh and Snyder Counties, Pennsylvania. The first record was done for Ida Victoria Bittenbender of Lower Macungie Township in Lehigh County, daughter of Daniel Y. Bittenberner and Eliza Breinig, who was born 12 August 1869 and baptized on 12 September 1869 by Pastor Jäger. The second record was done for Annah Charilah Stricker of Penn Township in Snyder County.

French Merci Train Gifts

The French Merci Train gifts were sent on the French freighter Magellan inside 49 antique, narrow gauge boxcars for each of the United States (one split between Hawaii and District of Columbia) as gratitude for the American Friendship Train that toured the United States to raise $40 million worth of food and clothing for French people. In 1949, Mary Laura Francis was sent from the school, then called State Teachers College, to collect the gifts selected for Salisbury University.
