This comprehensive collection documents the lengthy legal and political career of Maryland Attorney General Josiah Bayly, as well as the prolific medical practices of his son, Dr. Alexander Hamilton Bayly. The Ed Hammond Ephemera Collection consists of sources collected by Hammond dating between 1664 and 1944 (bulk of sources ranging from 1840 to 1900), primarily from towns in Delaware and the eastern shore of Maryland. Many of the documents bear the name of Daniel Hearn. Included are receipts and other financial documents from 1842 to 1942; court documents from 1732 (Ennall's Outrange, Dorchester County, Maryland) and 1863 (will and testament of Andrew Robins of Worcester County, Maryland); educational items (A May Brittingham's grammar school grades and commencement programs); Second World War ephemera (war ration books for two Smack family members and a defense bond envelope); correspondence (1679 letter about a court case and Levin Tyler letters from 1848 and 1849); and additional ephemera including an 1891 Ulman's Opera House concert, a poem, marriage invitations, death cards for Orris and Elizabeth Lloyd, a flyer from Philadelphia requesting goods for African American people, 1664 inventory of grazing cattle and surrender of land in England, and Packard Motor Car Company materials.

Isaac and Frances Ann Molock Bible and Photographs

Family Bible of Isaac and Frances Ann Molock, African American farmers from Dorchester County, Maryland. Published in 1865, the Bible contains handwritten pages that notate the birth, marriage, and death records of their children and ancestors from 1858-1885. Eventually, the Bible passed through the hands of their descendants, to a grandson, Clarence Molock, who was a scholar, educator and preacher, who eventually handed it to his grandson, donor Keiford Jackson. In addition to the Bible, four digital photographic images of original charcoal portraits of Frances Molock, Emma Jane Holland Farrare, Nancy Mitchell Young, and William Henry Clay Young, depict African Americans in a post-Civil War era.

The papers of the Levin H. Campbell family document the extensive family lineage of the Campbell, Hicks, Hooper, Goldsborough, Denwood, and Hollyday families of Dorchester and Talbot counties, Maryland. Records include handwritten family histories, newspaper clippings and comprehensive biographical information, original and facsimile, were acquired over the course of several decades by Hon. Levin H. Campbell, a direct descendent of Zacharias Campbell and date from 1777-2002. Of note, is a vital records diary begun in 1844 by Levin Hicks Campbell (1820-1868), which was maintained by family members through the 1940s. The diary also includes pages from the Campbell family Bible, and notes histories of Zacharias and his son, Levin.

Michael Owen Bourne papers

This collection contains research notes, surveys, hand-drawn architectural drawings and photographs created by architectural historian Michael Owen Bourne for historic home restorations and renovations between 1960 and 2020. His projects were mainly on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, as well as Delaware, and Virginia. However, there are some materials from projects in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. The majority of the collection dates from 1968 to 2009 and the materials range from his time working for the Historical Maryland Trust (1967-1973 and 1995-2000), as well as his own company (1973-1995), and the Department of Architectural Research at Colonial Williamsburg Foundation (2000-2003). Bourne's architectural papers related to Kent County, Maryland are located at the Historical Society of Kent County (the Nabb Center collection includes papers for all projects located outside of Kent County, Maryland).

The papers of Pat Russell document her community preservation activities from 1972-2004 in Whitehaven, Maryland and surrounding regional areas. These accomplishments include her involvement with the Wicomico County Historical Properties, Inc., which are documented via the restoration efforts of the Whitehaven Hotel and the development of the Whitehaven Historic District. Documenting resources include correspondence, architectural drawings, newspaper clippings, fiduciary responsibilities, and photographs. Regional oral histories document the shanty boats and hunting lodges which were once prominently featured along the seaside of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Cassette tape recordings and transcripts of these interviews with local people document their experiences which include Bob-O-Dell, Pope’s Island, the High Winds Club, and waterfowl hunting on Assateague and Chincoteague Islands. The oral histories also document varying storms that reshaped the coastline, as well as the development and expansion of cities and towns on the Delmarva Peninsula. Also documented through oral history are the personal experiences of Whitehaven residents which include African American segregation and their lives in various Eastern Shore communities including Taylorsville, the Germantown Rosenwald School, Ocean City and Church Creek.
