Correspondence from Dr. W. Kenneth Riland, Chief Physician, consists of a single letter written to All Employees of the United States Steel Corporation in New York. On October 31, 1957, Dr. Riland's memo, entitled "Asiatic Influenza and Upper Respiratory Infections," details that there has been an increase in upper respiratory tract infections, but that many are not Asian type influenza. He offers precautions including adequate rest, a balanced diet, avoiding crowds, and adequate protection against temperature and weather conditions. He also advises what to do if one were to become sick and asks that absences from illness be reported to the Medical Department. A scanned copy of the letter is available under Attachments.

Records of the City of Salisbury Field Operations

This collection consists of approximately 10,000 plans, maps, drawings, and other oversize documents from the City of Salisbury's Department of Field Operations and, prior to its inclusion in the Field Ops department, the Department of Public Works. While the record dates range from approximately 1890 to 2020, the majority of the collection dates between 1920 and 1980. Included are property surveys, utility maps and plans, water works materials, and other infrastructure-related documents used to build, maintain, and alter structures and properties in the City of Salisbury. Notably included are 1988 aerial photographs of the city (contact prints and negatives), project progress photographs, and microfiche reproductions of many of the oversize items.
