The Clyde Family Letter Collection documents the lives of Leslie Clyde and Robert A. Clyde as they served in France during the First World War. The letters date from 1916 to 1919 and describe the men's experiences as they trained at Fort Monroe, Virginia and served with the 2nd Trench Mortar Battery, 2nd Division throughout France. Most of the letters were written by Leslie and Robert to their mother, Jane "Jennie" Clyde, and their father, Robert S. Clyde, as well as their younger siblings: Margaret, Alexander "Sander," Jennie, and Marion. While most of the correspondence contains details about daily life, some mention national and worldwide events such as the Spanish influenza epidemic, Daylight Savings Time in the US, prohibition, the Chicago race riot of 1919, unions and the Railroad Brotherhood, and Charlie Chaplin. Some of the letters include racist slurs and sentiments.

The Craig O'Donnell Collection consists of one folder of both historical documents and written histories. Included are: correspondence between 1941 and 1945 of the Hitchens and Stewart families of Capeville, Virginia (Laura Hitchens Cherpak, Poppa Sally Hitchens, Aunt Minnie, and Ann H); a 2000 letter from genealogist Matthew Wise with a family tree documenting royal family lineage; a 2006 publication from Kent County News (Maryland) entitled "Tales of Kent County"; a 2020 publication entitled "Confederate Photographer on the Eastern Shore: The Story of Col. John M South" by Kevin Hemstock.

Delmarva Folklife Project collection

This collection contains the administrative files, fieldwork recordings, and photographs collected by the Delmarva Folklife Project between 1997 and 2003. The project documented Delmarva folk arts and cultural traditions through oral history interviews, photographs, video recordings, and collected materials used for research. Additionally, it promoted regional folk arts through mentoring programs, collection distribution to cultural institutions, and two 2004 publications: From Bridge to Boardwalk: An Audio Journey Across Maryland's Eastern Shore and Folk Arts and Cultural Traditions of the Delmarva Peninsula: An Interpretive Resource Guide. Also included are four boxes containing the reproduced slides and tapes that were distributed to various cultural institutions in the region.

Diaries of Becky Anne McGrath

The three diaries of Becky Anne McGrath were written between 1957 and 1959 and document the daily activities and social life of the Naval Academy student from Virginia. The 1957 and 1959 diaries are U.S. Naval Academy-issued "Trident Calendars" and consist of brief entries for each day, as well as annotated calendars. The 1958 diary is a "Year Book" for appointments, reminders, and memoranda, but consists of page-long daily entries from January to August. While many of McGrath's entries focused on her family and dating life, she also began to teach at Longwood College (now Longwood University) in Farmville, Virginia in 1959. McGrath commented on some world affairs, notably the 1958 Lebanon Crisis.

Also printed on the bottom of the statistical bulletin is a supplementary table showing certain of the above products in number and bushels.

J. Douglas Deal papers

The J. Douglas Deal papers document the extensive research done by Deal while writing his dissertation Race and Class in Colonial Virginia: Indians, Englishmen, and Africans on the Eastern Shore during the Seventeenth Century from 1970-1982 at the University of Rochester. Materials within the collection are comprised of photocopies of documents dating from 1663-1866. Photocopied materials include seventeenth-century Accomack County tithables, articles from the William and Mary Quarterly, and genealogical information regarding families from the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Handwritten notes and tithable charts created by Deal are also within the collection.

Journal of Isadore Soiecki

This journal was written by Isadore Soiecki of Baltimore, Maryland between 1859 and 1872 and contains both original and copied poetry, biographical entries, and genealogical notes. Soiecki was admitted into the Baltimore Bar in 1872. In July 1862 at Harrisonburg, Virginia, he penned the poem "Oh Maryland, Enslaved, Oppressed" about bloody battles in the American Civil War, though it is unclear if it was original or copied.

Kent Griffith Collection

The Kent Griffith Collection consists of extensive documentation of railways on and near Delmarva, including (but not limited to) the Eastern Shore Railroad, Pennsylvania Railroad, and New York, Pennsylvania, and Norfolk Railroad from the 1800s to the 1990s. While the collection includes Griffith's research notes and correspondence, as well as photographs he took and collected, the railroad memorabilia that Griffith collected was thorough and diverse. These documents include pass cards, time tables, employee timebooks, papers from a railroad employee TC Hurst, a scrapbook with hundreds of early 20th century Pennsylvania Railroad technical and safety memos, shipping and freight tags and receipts, detailed track charts and maps, and more.

The Major George W. Fisk papers document Fisk's experiences as a Major during World War II. The materials range from 1938 to 1946. Within the collection are photographs of Major Fisk and the Division Staff of the 2nd Infantry Division, a map of Western Europe with his route marked, a typed memoir, two books about the 2nd Infantry Division, two stamp albums for the purchase of war bonds, Maj. Fisk's uniform jacket and pants, and Maj. Fisk's wool army blanket.

This small collection of papers is composed of duplicate material in the possession of Mendel Heilig. Primary interest is a scanned and printed photograph of a family gathering that occurred around 1911. Heilig's grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins are each identified. In addition, his papers include two newspaper articles - one from the Baltimore Sun (Sunday, May 10, 1998, Perspectives section) and the other from The Daily Times (Saturday, April 13, 1996, Religion section) which discuss Jewish life on the Delmarva Peninsula. Correspondence written by Mendel Heilig in response to the Daily Times article and two maps indicating where the Heilig family immigrated from (Shavil and Urvalis, Lithuania) are also included.

Correspondence also includes a note from a teacher Bessie Justice to Mildred, after a move to Roanoke, Virgnia from Blackstone, Virgnia.
Myers and Doris Calcott Letters

These letters were written between 1917 and 1951 by Myers "Jack" Calcott and Doris Gay and chronicle their relationship as it progressed from friends to spouses. Myers and Doris, who were married on June 18, 1929, began writing each other in 1927 and sent many several page letters until Myers' death on July 10, 1951; letters prior to 1927 are primarily from Myers' mother while he was attending the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, as well as some of Doris' personal letters and school certificates when she lived in Charles Town, West Virginia. Myers' worked for the Merchants and Miners Transportation Corporation after graduating, which meant he moved frequently and was often at sea while Doris and their three daughters remained in Charlottesville, Norfolk, and Newport Beach. Myers served on the USS Kitty Hawk and USS Magoffin as a naval reservist. In 1946 they moved into their first permanent home in Salisbury, Maryland but Myers, who had struggled with drinking problems, became a patient at Perry Point Veterans Hospital.

Sketchbook of Virginia Landscapes

This notebook contains 38 pencil sketches that were drawn by an unidentified soldier in Company F of the 1st Kentucky Regiment. The regiment shipped out from Newport News, Virginia, for Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, on August 3, 1898, to fight in the Spanish-American War. The sketches were likely drawn after their return to Virginia four months later, capturing scenes traveling north from Old Point, up Hampton Creek, and along the Potomac River until reaching the Soldiers’ Home in Washington, D.C.

The William H. Edwards papers document the intensive research and preparation of a prominent Methodist Preacher from Virginia in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Drawing inspiration directly from the Bible, religious articles, and other religious leaders, William H. Edwards’ created unique sermons and extracted details from short and long Biblical passages. The papers date from 1883-1958 and highlight his relationship with his wife, fraternity, and religion. His dedication to family and Methodism is documented in correspondence, scripture and sermon notes, newspaper clippings, and publications.
Willis Tull papers

The Willis Tull papers include ephemera related to the Milbourne and Townsend familes of the Delmarva Peninsula. There is an excerpt from the 1931 text "Tidewater Maryland" which notes Ralph Milbourne, as well as scans of documents related to genealogical work done on the Milbourne and Townsend familes. There is an insert article from a magazine on George A. Townsend. Correspondence on "Crisfield, Maryland" letterhead addressed to "Myrtle" from an unknown writer is also included. There is the 1957 commencement and baccalaureate program from the State Teachers College, Towson, Maryland. Albert Richard Tull is mentioned in "Thatcham-Then and Now", 1983. Included is program from Maryland's Four Hundred Monument Rededication and Colonial Ancestors Roster, both from 1992. Finally, there is a copy of a colonial pamphlet from 1659, reprinted in 2002.
