Native American Heroism During the Colonial Period
This section will focus on the heroes of Native Americans during the Colonial Period. During this period, Native Americans were not seen as heroic but rather a threat to the colonizers. There are three significant figures we will be focusing on King Philip, Ninigret, and Pocahontas. These influential figures are considered leaders to Native people, including Americans today, Pocahontas being the best known out of the three. King Philp and Ninigret will focus on our leaders who lead their tribes into battle during significant historical conflicts.
