Candid Snapshot of Adolf Hitler

This candid snapshot of Adolf Hitler was found inside of a wooden ammunition box filled with other war souvenirs mailed from Private Lester Fooks to his wife in Salisbury, Maryland, during World War II. Lester E. Fooks enlisted in the U.S. Army two days before his 34th birthday on March 22, 1943, as a private. He fought in the European theater of World War II and sent a box of souvenirs home to his wife Stella in 1945.
