Combination Undergarment

Combination undergarments combined chemise and drawers into one garment and first appeared in the late 1870s. The advantage of the all-in-one combination undergarment was its relative lack of bulk. Even though this was a foundation layer, and therefore not meant to be seen, it was often decorated with lace or embroidery.
