Bloodletting Tools

Bloodletting was used as a medical treatment for thousands of years and was only discredited in the late 19th century. Virtually every known medical condition from fever to anemia was treated by bloodletting. Lancets and fleams were commonly used instruments for the practice. Scarificators contain spring-loaded blades that make a series of shallow cuts on a patient to better control the release of blood and to make the process a bit less painful.
