Racist Postcards

Postcards dominated communication in the early 20th century and were inexpensive to produce and could be sent cheaply and quickly. In 1905, over 7 billion postcards were mailed worldwide. Stereotypical depictions on postcards were common and provided a means of perpetuating and normalizing racist ideas and beliefs.
