James Welsh collection

Dr. James M. Welsh joined the English faculty at Salisbury State College (now Salisbury University) in 1971 and co-founded Literature/Film Quarterly in 1973 with Tom Erskine. For many years, he reviewed films in local newspapers and television. The James Welsh Collection includes Welsh's film reviews from the 1970s to 2013, as well as approximately 2600 film press kits, lobby cards, and press books that were used to write the reviews and 600 u-matic videotape audiovisual press kits used for television. Also included are many film studies journals that date from the 1940s to 2009, an almost complete run of the Literature/Film Quarterly from 1973 to 2009, and teaching materials used in film studies classes. Film titles are included in the inventory.

Japanese Matchbook Label Album

Langrall Family papers

This collection includes items collected from the Langrall family and given to Dean Langrall from his father, H. O. Langrall, Jr. when the store closed, dating from 1938 to 1972. The collection comprises of the scripts from the WSAL Radio Station where the broadcaster gives a five-minute advertisement for H. O. Langrall Furniture Co. There are also several copies of a receipt showing Mr. Langrall's purchase of these advertisement slots, as well as one newspaper ad for his furniture. Also included are newspaper articles, a marriage certificate for Hubert Orland Langrall, Sr. and Monnie Mae Langrall, 1923, a scrapbook of H.O Langrall Jr's experience in World War Two, and a Sunday school promotional certificate from Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church.

Family bibles and photographs capture births, marriages and deaths of the Dixon and White families of Pocomoke City as well as life on the Eastern Shore in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Rick Maloof photographs

Rick Maloof photography collection documents the professional and personal life of Salisbury, Maryland photographer Rick Maloof. The photographs, brochures, and photographic slides, date from 1960 to 2010. His professional photographic slides, photographs, and brochures encompass his work as an artist, wedding photographer, and commercial photographer in and around the Eastern Shore. Portraits make up the bulk of the material, as well as landscapes, and still life shots, are included in his professional images. Maloof’s personal photographs and photographic slides document his personal life, with images of his daughter Alyssa, his family, and his friends.
