Benn Maggs Photographs

Benn Maggs was an instructor and sports coach at Salisbury University from 1933 to 1976. He was an amateur photographer who captured many different campus scenes from 1959 and 1983, most of which were athletics. The Maggs Physical Activity Center was named in his honor and he was elected to the Athletics Hall of Fame in 1985.

Crisfield High School Scrapbooks

These seven Crisfield High School scrapbooks document high school activities and student achievements from 1935 to 1993. The three earliest scrapbooks focus on the Spinning Wheel Club and the Future Homemakers of America which seem to go hand in hand. The later scrapbooks focus on Crisfield High School sports and the daily events of the high school. These scrapbooks include mainly newspaper clippings but also includes event programs and flyers.
Deborah Underhill Collection

This collection contains photographs, newspaper articles, postcards, menus, a high school yearbook, high school diploma, family history information and a variety of local information. The photographs in the collection are from the early 1900s, and include houses as well as people. The newspaper articles date from 1948 to the 1970s and are about a variety of topics. The earliest article is a sale advertisement for a house in Salisbury, Maryland. Ocean City postcards from around the 1970s show hotels and aerial views of Ocean City. There are also menus and postcards from restaurants in Ocean City. The Wicomico High yearbook, from 1927, includes pictures of the freshman, sophomore, junior and senior class. Two high school diplomas from Wicomico County from 1920 and 1926. Farm records, shareholding records and family books give insight to the life of a family living around the Lower Eastern Shore. Finally this collection includes a number of pens and pencils listing the names and addresses of local businesses. As well as information on the local Salisbury baseball team in 1948, local campaign items and cards from local attractions.
E. Sheldon Jones Collection

The E. Sheldon Jones collection documents the career of the Salisbury Advertiser editor, E. Sheldon Jones, and his father, I. Ernest Jones, who was the Mayor of Salisbury from 1916 to 1920. The collection includes newspaper clippings and papers related to Jones' mayoral term, financial information of both Jones', photographs dating between the 1880s and 1940s, a State of Maryland court docket from James E. Cathell dating 1880-1882, handwritten and written recipes, and internal memos from the Red Star Motor Coach Company between 1942 and 1946.
Kirkland Hall collection

This 58-image digital collection was created by Dr. Kirkland Hall and primarily documents the Negro League team, Oaksville Eagles, located near Princess Anne, Maryland. Included are photographs, newspaper clippings, and other documents related to the team, other Negro League teams and players, and the Oaksville baseball field.
Norman Crawford papers

The Norman Crawford papers consist of the personal papers and administrative records that belonged to Norman Crawford, a majority of which were created during his time as President of Salisbury State College (now Salisbury University), 1970-1980. Although many of Crawford’s personal papers date prior to his arrival at Salisbury in 1970, there are materials, some of which relate to his continuing relationship with Salisbury, that date after 1980.

The Records of Perdue Farms, Inc. consist of correspondence, agendas, memoranda, handwritten notes, reports, speeches, minutes, newsletters, newspaper clippings, photographs, slides, audio and video documenting the Salisbury, Maryland company Perdue Farms, Inc, which includes both Perdue Foods and Perdue AgriBusiness. The collection also houses records pertaining to the Perdue Family, as well as some of Frank P. Perdue's personal papers, dating from 1790 to 2018 (though primarily from 1970 to 2000).
Richard Griffith Scrapbook

This collection of digitized scrapbook pages depicts the baseball career of Sharptown, Maryland native, Mr. Richard Griffith. The collection includes digitized newspaper clippings and photos from Mr. Griffith's baseball career from spanning from 1953-1961. Also included is a digitized copy of Mr. Griffith's application to be inducted into the Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001 as well as a the copy of the program from the induction event. Salisbury State College Rowing Club Scrapbook

The Salisbury State College Rowing Club was not an official sport within the school’s athletic association and was instead founded as a club in 1968. Practices and home competitions were held in the Wicomico River. The club was supervised by assistant dean of students, George P. Volenik. This scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, photographs, and records related to the Salisbury State College Rowing Club from 1968 to 1969. While the items were pasted within the scrapbook, many of them have become loose and are now located in a separate folder. There are also some drawings and lettering of the club’s title within the pages. The scrapbook was originally kept by the club’s faculty supervisor, George P. Volenik.
Sports Information Collection

The Office of Sports Information maintains the public relations for all Salisbury University athletics, including the production of publications, maintenance of statistics, and the university’s athletics Hall of Fame. It is part of University Advancement and External Affairs and began as part of the Office of Public Relations. The Sports Information Collection consists of materials relating to athletics at Salisbury University from the 1920s to 2014, although the bulk of the items date between 1972 and 2005. While the majority of the items are printed materials, including photographs, slides, and negatives, there are several audiovisual items such as VHS tapes, digital video, and audio cassettes. The collection also includes newspaper clippings, press releases, schedules, handbooks, brochures, and other ephemeral items.
