Abstract

The Records of Perdue School of Business contains proposals, curricula, textbooks, and various material about the opening of the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business from 1979 to 2011.

Administrative History

The Franklin P. Perdue school of business proposed its master's in business administration in 1979 and the school was established in 1986. The Perdue School of Business was accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 1994. The school was named after Franklin Perdue, heir of the poultry production company. After attending Salisbury for a teaching degree, Perdue endowed the university with a business program in 1986. The school’s classes were held within Salisbury’s Holloway Hall until a separate building was opened in 2011. 

Scope and Content Note

This collection contains proposals, curricula, textbooks, and various material about the opening of the Franklin P. Perdue school of Business from 1979 to 2011. The proposals discuss the creation of an MBA program and development of an economic education program. Included are research papers detailing the impact of economic education at Salisbury State University, as well as the development of various business careers in the 1980s. There are also mockups of donor names within Holloway Hall, and Perdue School promotional booklets from the 1990s. Papers from the 2000s showcase the groundbreaking ceremony for Perdue Hall’s construction as well as presentation pamphlets regarding an achievement award competition.
