Anna Louise Brittingham Taylor collection

This collection contains documents pertaining to the life of Louise Brittingham Taylor. The documents in this collection follow her from grade school through her retirement. Included are such things as grade school report cards, information on Salisbury Normal School, programs on her commencement ceremony from both high school and Salisbury Normal School. There are several documents, forms, and booklets on her career as a teacher and copies of her teaching certificate and diploma from both high school and Salisbury State Normal School. Included are letters congratulating her on her retirement, and booklets and programs concerning her 50th and 60th Salisbury State University reunion. There are photographs of her College Graduation as well as several from her class reunions.

Arlene Goslee Knowles scrapbooks

The Arlene Goslee Knowles scrapbooks document the experience of a young woman coming of age during World War II, 1943-1949. The scrapbooks focus on religious and social events in Sharptown, Maryland; within the scrapbooks, there are birth, wedding, graduation and death announcements. The collection also conveys how an American woman during this period, engages and finds global interconnections. There is ephemera related to her brother, John Goslee’s service in World War II. Additionally, there is material related to relationships she developed with other Methodists in South East Asia. The scrapbooks contain church programs, newspapers, photographs, postcards and ephemera related to Arlene’s life.

Laurel-Thomas Young Collection

The Laurel-Thomas Young Collection mostly documents the life of "Tommy" Young from 1937 to 1948 while he was a teenager and student at State Teachers College in Salisbury. The collection includes a photograph of the 1937 Salisbury Indians, Eastern Shore League baseball team, a scrapbook of S.T.C. baseball clippings and dance cards, and two issues of The Holly Leaf. Also included is a postcard from Salisbury State University and a metal button which reads "Salisbury State Go Gulls."

The Papers of Margaret Jones Bloodsworth offer an extensive look into the life of the Margaret Jones over the years when she was a student at Wicomico High School and Salisbury State College from 1936 to 1942. The collection is comprised of print material such as portraits of Margaret, a list of her high school classmates in memoriam, a program for 50th reunion of the Wicomico High Schools Class of 1941, and an information about the State Teachers College in Salisbury, Maryland. Additionally within the collection, two scrapbooks created by Margaret Jones also depict her life experiences during her time attending high school and college, as well as a glimpse into the later years of her life from 1989 to 1996. The collection also includes a photographic print of the Wicomico High School senior class of 1941. Furthermore, the papers of Margaret Jones Bloodsworth help to document and illustrate what life was like for residents in the Wicomico County area in the late 1930s to 1940s.
