The Diary of Marthe Johnson was written in 1927 by a 15 year old woman from San Louis Obispo County, California. Johnson frequently read and saw films, which likely inspired her emotive writing and dreams of "trips abroad to the mysterious and romantic lands of Europe and Africa and Asia." Johnson wrote nearly every day about school, family road trips around America, and what she had read. She was also a member of the Girls Athletic Association (G.A.A.). Also included with the diary is a 13 page note that Johnson wrote to close the year 1927, which provides insight into the author's intentions and emotions.

Embroiders' Guild of America: Chesapeake Chapter Collection

This collection consists of various documents from 1978 to 2011 pertaining to the Embroiders' Guild of America's Chesapeake Chapter. Included are photographs of embroidery pieces and various events such as annual retreat. In addition, the collection contains the chapter's periodic newsletter, "The Chesapeake Sampler," that discussed past events, a blue banner that has squares sewn on from 1981 and was put together in 1986 and a scrapbook called, "The Swans," dated 1989 that was donated by the Mid-Wessex Branch Embroiders' Guild from Salisbury, England for the Chesapeake Chapter's 10th Anniversary Exhibition. Also included are the chapter's administrative files such as their meeting minutes, bylaws, budgets, newspaper articles, memos and letters. Included are correspondence and printed materials from the national organization.

Regionally District 1 is comprised of Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico and Worcester counties and their organized garden clubs. Activities including the semiannual meetings, special meetings, horticulture committee, and the newsletter are documented via meeting minutes recorded by the FGCMD secretary. Also included are scrapbooks compiled by the FGCMD historian that document the activities of the varying clubs through photographs and newspaper clippings.

This ledger contains the names, addresses, telephone numbers, occupations, working hours, and additional lines of work for women who were part of a Connecticut organization (likely Meriden) circa 1918. The women are listed in companies and each has a rank (Captain, Lieutenant, Private). It is likely that the women were either Minute Women or part of the Connecticut State Council of Defense. Other lines of work listed for the women were Red Cross, surgical, nursing, visiting, reading aloud, stenography, clerical, accounting, auto driving, sewing, gardening, playground, and more. Also included are definitions for various crimes including treason.
