Registry of Public School No. 3

The Charles Cole Collection includes a school registry from public school number 3, located near the community of West, dated from the year 1909-1916. It is a list of students, and teachers as well as their grades and attendance throughout the school year. There are four different teachers listed in the registry, each teaching a different year with a different set of students. Those teachers were Bessie Pollitt, Helen Pusey, Delsie Fooks, and Carl Powell.
Religious Journal of James Caldwell

This religious journal was written in the 1830s by James Caldwell of Buckskin Township, Ohio and served as both a diary and journal for writing published religious texts. The journal contains diary entries about sin and God from the writer's perspective, but the majority of the entries are commentaries on sin, repentance, the blood of Christ, Satan, and the death of God's enemies. The journal is hand sewn and pages are completely filled, sometimes with writing sideways and reverse, and some of the pages are recycled from other uses. Caldwell was an immigrant from Ireland, fought in the War of 1812, and was an early founder and school teacher in Buckskin Township.

Richard Frizzell Letters

These letters were written by Richard Hanna Frizzell to his parents in Cleveland, Ohio. Frizzell was a student at Yale College from 1928 to 1932, lived in New York City after graduation, briefly moved to central Pennsylvania to apply for a job with the Interstate Commerce Commission, and eventually moved to Buffalo, New York where he worked for Wickwire Spencer Steel Company. He wrote about his approach to life, college activities and social happenings, assessments of his own talents, and school work. While the letters are primarily to his parents, there are also letters written to his aunts and letters sent to his parents from their cousins.
Richard Hoffman Collection

The Richard Hoffman Collection contains documents that reflect the time Dr. Richard Hoffman spent at Salisbury University from 1993 to 2019. He was professor of management for over 25 years and interim dean of Perdue School of Business for three years. During his time as interim dean, he oversaw the addition of a museum to the Perdue School. He gathered a small library of scholarly journals on business, management, and marketing. He also led a winter study abroad program that went to France, England, and Germany. There are photo albums documenting the study abroad trips from 1995 to 2003. Other materials in this collection are a plaque of outstanding research from Perdue School, CDs documenting the Perdue School museum and a study abroad trip, and blueprints for the Perdue School and museum built in 2011.

Also included is an extensive herbarium of native Delmarva plant species compiled by both Wilson and Hirst. The work in the collection covers botanizing throughout New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland's Eastern Shore.
