Margaret Hankins Photograph Album

Margaret Hankins (later Miller) was a student at the State Normal School at Salisbury in 1927 and 1928. This photograph album contains approximately 88 vernacular photographs taken by Margaret Hankins between 1927 and 1931, although many are undated and unidentified. There are two pasted items in the front of the scrapbook: an article and a Salisbury pennant print. Hankins later became the president of the Alumni Association and moved to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. She passed away in 2006.

Mary Corkran (later Davis) was a student at the State Normal School at Salisbury and graduated in 1932. She passed away in 1986. This loose scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, programs, and other ephemera related to Corkran’s time as a student at the State Normal School at Salisbury in 1931 and 1932.
Morris Family papers

The Morris Family papers document the Salisbury, Maryland residents who lived at 533 South Division Street and owned and operated the Morris Millwork Company. Photographic prints and funeral ephemera document the relationships of Levin Merrill Morris, his wife, S. Martha and their daughter, Dorothy Catherine, 1890-1955. Additionally, handwritten notes on family birth, marriage and death records have been maintained, this includes an 1864 Evidence of Title for Richard Morris of the US Colored Troop. Dorothy’s friendships with her college classmates are documented in a scrapbook she compiled while at Temple University as well as in The Tatler, the yearbook of Wicomico High School.
National Parks Photograph Album

This photograph album contains 254 photographs documenting travel throughout North America between 1920 and 1935, especially in national parks. While 57 photographs are professional prints sold to tourists, the remaining 197 were taken by the album owner. Included in the identified photographs are Yellowstone and Glacier Parks; Bismark and Rugby in North Dakota; Black Hills, South Dakota (including one of Mount Rushmore under construction); Hot Springs, Arkansas; Brackenbridge Park, San Antonio, Rio Grand Valley, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, and Galveston in Texas; Miami and Daytona Beach in Florida; Georgia; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Monterrey, Mexico; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Grand Canyon in Arizona; Clermont, Iowa; and Los Angeles, Imperial Valley, San Francisco, Coronado Island, San Diego, and Pasadena in California (including the 1920 Rose Bowl parade).
Nicholas Hatter Ledger

The ledger of Nicholas Hatter was written from 1861 to 1863 in Owings Mills, Maryland. The ledger includes monetary transactions of various people. The first several pages were covered with newspaper clippings that seem to be poems. These newspaper clippings cover previous entries made by Hatter. Included with the ledger are other excerpts from newspapers, music sheets, and parts of the ledger that had fallen out. There is also a photograph of a man that was taken in Baltimore, Maryland.

Scrapbook, featuring political cartoons, newspaper clippings, advertisements, postcards, and images, 1885-1888, which include short stories, poems and articles about President Grover Cleveland and his wife Francis. There are photographs of St. Andrew's Church, Ann Arbor, Michigan, a side profile of President Rutherford B. Hayes and his daughter, Eugenice Hayes at nineteen months in April of 1885.

The Princess Anne Chapter of the Business and Professional Women’s club was founded in 1956. These records from Princess Anne, Maryland, 1956-1996, reflect the chapters organizational practices and extensively showcases the club’s activeness and successfulness within its community and its members. The club aimed at empowering its women members to the betterment of their professionalism in hopes of creating a better functioning business community. This was promoted by the individual development workshops, community service, participation in committees, and various programs hosted by the club. With the numerous meeting minutes, finance records, history books and newspaper clipping, the fulfillment of the club’s objectives can be seen through its many accomplishments and accolades. Additional records include the Delta Kappa Gamma records, highlight a few of the societies sacred rites, as well as documents the chapter's activities from 1971-1975 through meeting minutes, budgets, and programs.

Also included in the collection is a scrapbook from 1996-1998 from one of the Delta Gamma sisters and two pledge pins.

The Records of the German Club and German Study Abroad Programs collection documents the history of the German Club at Salisbury University and two study abroad programs offered by the Modern Languages Department between 1980 and 2015. Included in the collection are flyers, photographs, scrapbooks, video recordings, press releases, administrative forms, notes and correspondence among other materials created by Salisbury University (previously Salisbury State College and Salisbury State University) students and the advisor of German Club, Klaudia Thompson. Two events, Oktoberfest and Immersion Weekend, are the main focus of the German Club records. In addition, there are programs, posters, itineraries, travel guides and brochures, advertisements for the program, and postcards from abroad that document a winter study abroad program and a summer study abroad program. There are additional materials related to the Modern Languages Department itself, mostly regarding German courses and events, that include correspondence and publications by or about the Department. Lastly, there is a large collection of photographs and scrapbooks documenting events held by the German Club and the study abroad trips.
