This collection consists of assorted local paper ephemera from 1852 to 1990. Most of the items originated from the George Bounds & Company of Hebron, the J. H. Farlow & Brother of Salisbury and the Wimbrow & Company of Whaleyville and William and Edwin Sirman. Included are cannery tokens from the Harold B. Kennerly & Son in Nanticoke, Maryland. Also included are over 925 postcards of Salisbury from the 19th to the 21st century arranged by subject.

The K. King Burnett papers encompass the executive activities and operations of numerous environmental organizations. These documents reflect the impact that preservation regulations had on the Delmarva Peninsula specifically, Wicomico and Worcester counties as it evolved from 1960 - 2014, and the entirety of the papers span from as early as 1894 - 2014. Burnett served as a legal advisor for these organizations. His papers contain numerous board of director reports which reflect by-law drafts and final copies, logistics proceedings regarding agency consolidation, and documents entailing litigation representation including the enforcement of environmental regulations. Organizations of note include Committee to Preserve Assateague Island, Wicomico Planning, Zoning, and Development Committee, and Greater Salisbury Committee.

The Kent Griffith Collection consists of extensive documentation of railways on and near Delmarva, including (but not limited to) the Eastern Shore Railroad, Pennsylvania Railroad, and New York, Pennsylvania, and Norfolk Railroad from the 1800s to the 1990s. While the collection includes Griffith's research notes and correspondence, as well as photographs he took and collected, the railroad memorabilia that Griffith collected was thorough and diverse. These documents include pass cards, time tables, employee timebooks, papers from a railroad employee TC Hurst, a scrapbook with hundreds of early 20th century Pennsylvania Railroad technical and safety memos, shipping and freight tags and receipts, detailed track charts and maps, and more.

Samuel L. Adkins papers document his life on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, specifically his education, military service, employment at Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company and his personal hobbies with county farms, the Salisbury Coin Club and the Antique Car Club of the Accomack-Northampton Region. Mr. Adkins life is documented via photographs, certificates, and memorabilia from 1885-2009 with the bulk of the material dating from 1950-1987. Materials also of note are bank notes and an agricultural sign relating to his father, A. Paul Adkins.
The Fair of the Iron Horse Program

This program was created The Fair of the Iron Horse, which took place in Halethorpe, Maryland from September 24 to October 8, 1927. The event was held to commemorate the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad’s first one hundred years of service to the public. The massive undertaking was spread over 25 acres along the Old Main Line and was attended by more than 1.25 million people. In addition to stationary exhibitions, it featured a moving pageant each afternoon that dramatized the progress of inland transport during the previous 100 years. Featured in the pageant were Native American Indians, horseback riders, stagecoaches, Conestoga wagons, and the evolution of locomotives including entries from Canada and Great Britain.
