The Ed Hammond collection consists of Bibles, financial ledgers, journals and ephemera from 1752-1971. The collection offers insight into the genealogies of the Franklin, Warrington, Selby, Martin, Townsend and Upshur families of Maryland. Records also include religious texts, financial ledgers from 1830-1971; and journals and ephemera from 1878-1909. The collection was discovered in the attic of a home in Worcester County, Maryland, and donated to the Center by Ed Hammond.

Family history is documented by autobiographical writings, research correspondence, Nabb family genealogies, Andrew Nabb’s certifications, newspaper clippings and photographs.
Edwin C.M. Dickey papers

The papers of Edwin C.M. Dickey document his early life in Wicomico County, Maryland through his military career and ultimately his personal interests when he was a resident of the United States Soldiers Home in Washington D.C. The materials date from 1898-1963 with the bulk of the material 1921-1963 documenting his post-war life interests. Edwin traced his genealogical roots as far back as John Dickey of Chester County, Pennsylvania who had military ties with George Washington in the American Revolution. Edwin studied and wrote on a wide range of subjects including world and American history, philosophy, and science. Further, there is evidence within the papers that Edwin was an early 20th-century Free-Mason. Also included within the records are a series of scrapbooks, ledgers, correspondence, and photographs.

Family Bible Collection

Bibles donated to the Nabb Center, whether singly or as part of a larger collection, have been integrated into this collection. A variety of print editions spanning from 18th Century to 20th century are represented, as well as various religious denominations and types of Bibles. Most of the Bibles contain hand-written notations of family history – including births, deaths, marriages and baptisms-- for several surnames beyond the title. Some may contain additional clippings or other items and some Bibles do not contain any family information. Family Bibles held by the Nabb Center and not included in this collection are also referred to in the inventory. A partial transcription of the family history pages is available upon request (full transcription will be made available online soon).
Fields Family History collection

Fisher Genealogy Collection

The Fisher Genealogy Collection contains the genealogical history of the Fisher family. Most of the family members resided in Sussex County, Delaware. Within the collection, there is detailed information about births, deaths, and marriages of Fisher family members. There are also transcriptions of the Lt. William James Fisher collection (the physical letters reside at the Gettysburg National Military Park Archives).
