Alpha Kappa Alpha
Founded in 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha was the first Greek-lettered sorority established and incorporated by African American college women. Salisbury University’s campus Mu Chi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha was chartered in 1979.
Its founding members are pictured in the 1980 Evergreen yearbook. Although the chapter was dissolved in 1986, students re-chartered the Mu Chi chapter on March 10, 2013, reviving the sorority and its distinct salmon pink and apple green colors.
