Abstract of Record Indenture between Levin D.Collier & James Bounds & Joseph Windsor, Judges of the Magistrate Cour, District No. 1 Somerset County on the first part and William T. Wood of the other part. By virtue of power & authority of them given by an Act of the General Assembly at December session 1839 relating to free negreos and slaves have bound out Leah Purnell, free girl of color, 5 yo on 22 October next and daughter of George and Ailsy Purnell who are of indigent circumstances, Leah is apprenticed to William T. Wood. To learn trade of domestic servant, until 22 October 1855 when 18 yo; at end of term to receive $10 money or equivalent in clothes as a freedom suit.
