Salisbury Documentary Video Collection

This box contains three VHS video recordings of three individuals who lived in or around Salisbury in the early Twentieth Century: Mr Henry Fields, a shop owner in downtown Salisbury and World War One veteran; Mr. John Bailey, a World War Two veteran and farmer from Quantico; and Mr. Ted White, World War One veteran, previous mayor of Salisbury and Pharmacist from White & Leonard's on Main Street. Each of these men describe life in Wicomico in the early Twentieth Century and the changes that occurred in the area throughout their lives.

Somerset County Land Grant records

This collection contains two land grants dated 1875 from the Land Office of Somerset County. One deed is granted for 266 and three-quarter acres of a plot known as "Visions Luck". The other patent is for a location known as "Denwood's Den", which is 300 acres. The grant for "Visions Luck" briefly mentions that Denwood's Den is adjoining to that land plot. Both plots are close to the Wicomico River and have been in existence since the late 17th century.

Somerset County Land Records

This collection contains several land records documenting Somerset County plats from 1680 to 1866 (primarily 1770s to 1850s) including Spring Hill, Coscoway, Henry's Conclusion, and Crucked Chance. Included are courses, deeds (including one 1806 deed between George Perdue and William Parsons), land plats, an 1852 will and account distribution for Thomas White, a bond between Lambert Adkins and Joseph Ellis, and receipts documenting land transactions.
