Most of the letters are written to his wife, Annie Murrell “Merle” Allcorn, at home in Texas. The letters date from 1941 -1952, with the majority of letters written from 1944-1945.

This travel diary was written in 1940 by an unknown woman who lived in Providence, Rhode Island. The 58 year old woman traveled to Glendale, California with her 21 year old daughter, Martha. The two left on October 7 and attended a convention in Kansas City, stopped in several cities before California, and rented an apartment in Glendale from November 3 to November 26, returning to Rhode Island afterwards.
