The Louise Messick Moyer papers date from 1900-2006, with the bulk of the material dating from 1990-2005. The collection represents her genealogical research on multiple families, with extensive correspondence, family trees, abstracts and notes on the Messick, Long and Simmons families. The research spans Lancaster County in Virginia, Dorchester and Somerset Counties in Maryland and Sussex County, Delaware. Records also include facsimiles of 19th Century financial and marriage information, transcriptions of diaries from 1876 and 1906, a self-published memoir of a merchant sailor, and information on the menhaden fishing industry.

This collection consists of numerous mid-19th century to early 20th century photographs found in the barn loft of Harry Messick in Allen, Maryland. Also included is a surveyor's field book by an unknown author from 1853 to 1855. In the field book are tracts from East Princess Anne area: Woterford Corrected, Arabia, Woolf's Denn, Wolf Worth, Miles Good Luck, Middle Pasture, Foul's Meadow, Tilghman's Fortune and Turpins Choice.
Robertson Family History Collection

This collection contains a large compilation of random greeting cards sent to residents of Whitehaven, MD ranging from the early 1900’s to the late 1930’s. The majority of the cards appear to have been sent to Mrs. Willie “Billie” Robertson. The collection also contains a Register of Wills attributing the date of death for George B. Robertson as Mar. 20, 1936. A handwritten synopsis is provided on each of the postcards on a separate sheet of paper, author unknown. Also included are copies of Robertson’s wills, savings, checkbooks, land deeds, and funeral arrangements. Certain pamphlets from Maryland State Normal Class presentations and a Cruise ship itinerary are included.
