| Abstract of Record | Indenture between Levin D. Collier & Joseph Winsore, & James Bounds, sitting as judges of the first District Court of Somerset on the first part & John H. Leonard on the second part. George Purnell, 8 yo on 22 October 1841, son of Ailsey Purnell, free woman of color, who was sold by order of the Court issued on 24 September 1841 in issuance of the third section of aforesaid act, unto the said John H. Leonard, not to be removed out of the state of Maryland. George to learn domestic work of a farmer as an apprentice, until 22 October 1854 when he is 21 yo. To learn the business of farming; at expiration of term to receive $10 in lawful money or the value thereof in clothing. |
