Church Service, Charges Served, Affiliated Locations, and Other Biographical Information No public or private schools for children of African descent at that place or time. There were no schools for African descent children there until he was nearly grown. His preacher father was school for him. Converted at Zell's Gate Campground in 1872. Became local preacher & supplied Snow Hill Circuit. Got private instruction to prepare for ministry. Admitted on trial in 1891. Appointments: Snow Hill Circuit. Bridgeton, N.J., Newport, De., Frankford, Pa, Warwick, DE, Kirkwood, De, Hopewell, Md, Centreville Circuit, Easton Circuit, Dover De. Circuit. Retired 1910.
Family and Other Information Parents: Rev. Samuel G. Waters (of 1st session of Del. Conference in 1864) & Henrietta Waters. Married 3 times: 1873 Amelia Hutt (deceased), grandaughter of Rev. Henry Hutt. She had 3 sons and 2 daughters. Two sons survive him. 2nd spouse: Maggie Moss (deceased) & had 1 son. 3rd spouse: Bessie Johnson. 4 brothers & 2 sisters also survive him including Revs. J. R. Waters and W. E. Waters.
