Abstract of Record John, negro boy, 10 yo on 25 December next, son of free negro Maria Ewell, apprenticed to Isaac McCready until 25 December 1859 when 21 yo. To learn trade of farmer or such work as is normally done by farmers & county laborers like apprentices. At expiration of term to receive an axe or the value thereof in money and also two suits of clothes, one for working days and one suitable for Sunday wear.
