| Transaction Abstract | Aaron Manoka 5 yo free Negro boy goes to Orphans' Court 6 Jan last past & since he is not at service or learning a trade or in service of his parents it is determined that he is without means for his support. The Justices bind him as apprentice until age 21 to William H. Yates. Yates contracts to teach him the trade of blacksmith & to supply him with suitable clothing & maintenance and when free to give him $20 and suit of clothes as freedom dues. Also, in lieu of education, to receive $25 when free. Signed 17 May 1858. |
