Transaction Abstract Hagar Boley owes Emma L. Creighton $500 and to secure payment executes this indenture assigning Negro man Joseph Boley, slave for life, to Creighton for her use. Hagar Boley is to pay Creighton $100 on or before 1 Jan 1856, $100 on or before 1 Jan 1857, $100 on or before 1 Jan 1858, and $100 on or before 1 Jan 1859. If Joseph dies any time before 1 Jan 1859, the said sum shall stop & cease to be made thereon. Joseph to remain in possesion & under control of Hagar Boley during said term. Signed 11 Jan 1854.
