Transaction Abstract It was desire of father-in-law Thomas Jones of John, that Negro woman Mary 47 yo, slave for life, should be free in her old age on account of her faithful services to him. On 30 Nov 1850 Thomas Jones of John conveyed her & other property to Thomas Jones of William due to his love & affection and knowing he would consent to her freedom. He has not exacted any service from her & she now wants to purchase her freedom through her father-in-law Silas Woodland, a free man, by her labor for him. Thomas Jones of William ,in consideration of her faithful services & his love & affection for her as a servant, & for $25 paid by Woodland, has sold her to Woodland. 30 Mar 1853.
