Two years later his mother died & he was hired out to farmer for board & clothing. Attended school five months in year.Then went live in home of John L. Stevens near Mangolia, N.J. Attended public schools of Snow Hill, N.J. & entereed Morgan College, Baltimore, Md in 1902. Converted in 1899 & was licensed to preach. Appointed to supply Jericho; bought ground & built church there - completed 11/22/1914. Appointed to Fordsville Circuit in 1910 & in 1912 to Bridgeton, N.J.
