Educated at Missionary School & graduated from State Normal School at Newberne, N.C. Taught public schools of Virginia. Learned trade of shoemaker in his father's shop. Converted at age 12 & joined A. M. E. Zion Church & member until 1890 when he joined St. John's Methodist Episcopal Church, Orange, N. J. Sent as supply in 1895 to Bloomfield, N. J.; joined Conference at Chester, Pa. Charges: Hopewell; Leemont Va; Unionville, Md; White Haven, Md. Moved to Salisbury after supernumerary relation & was in Peninsula General Hospital. Moved with family to Suffolk, Va in 1908.
Family and Other Information Survived by wife & 6 children. Daughter Emily predeceased him in 1908.
