No colored churches in county then, but colored people worshipped in galleries of white churches. United with Mount Pleasant Episcopal Church for 13 years. Licensed to exhort in 1869 and admitted on trial in Delaware Conference. Appointments: Wicomico Circuit, Md.; Salem, N.J.; Crumpton Ct Port Deposit, Md; Bridgeton Ct.; Horntown, Va; Parsonsburg Ct, Md; Lewes & Harmony, De; Church Creek, Md. Retired to Cambridge, but later appointed to Cambridge, Trappe, Melitota & Millington. Moved to Chester, living there 11 years. |
