Abstract of Record Thomas N. Williams & William McGrigor, Esqs., to distribute estate of John Kerby, in hands of Thomas Franklin & Charlotte, his wife; inventory: negroes Caesar 58 yo, Caleb 45 yo, David 45 yo, Shedrich 17 yo, Jenny 37 yo, Jenny 18 yo, Rachel 13 yo (?), Esther 14 yo; list balance of estate $1277.40; will gave property to wife Charlotte until children come of age; 1) to widow; dower 2) to children Robert, Milby, Molly & William, 1/4 of remainder; Molly died in 1796 leaving no issue; William died in 1797; Milby died in 1805, part of his estate to Frances & Lemuel Franklin, his half brothers. Further distribution: 1) to Charlotte: negro man Cesar, woman Sarah; list 2) to Robert Kerby: 2/3 of negro man Caleb; man Shedrich, girls Esther & Rachel; list 3) to Frances Franklin; woman Jenny; list 4) to Lemuel Franklin; man David; list
