Abstract Deposition of Captain Matthias Traverse of Dorchester County, aged upwards of 80 years, concerning an action of replevin by John Simmons against Jacob Pattison for a slave named Bob, states that in 1829 or 1830 Bob was one of three slaves taken by Pattison from Simmons in settletment of a debt.
