John F. Sterling, (1877-1940), The funeral for John Fulton Sterling, 62, retired seafood merchant, will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Hines funeral home, 2901 Fourteenth street northwest, with burial in Fort Lincoln Cemetery. He died Friday at his home, 1200 Euclid street northwest, after a long illness. A native of Crisfield, Md., Mr. Sterling came to Washington 18 years ago and established his business at the Old Center Market, where he remained until the market closed about five years ago when he retired. He was a thirty-second degree Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Knights Templar. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith Wilson Sterling; two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Jane Lanham and Mrs. Mary Jane Davis, both of Washington; a brother, Aaron Sterling, of Crisfield, and five sisters, Mrs. Ida Horsey and Mrs. Martha Loockerman, of Crisfield; Mrs. Mary Leonard, of Washington; Mrs. Effie Hallberg, of Gainesville, Fla., and Mrs. Carrie Matthews, of Silver Spring, Md.

Mrs. Edith W. Sterling, (1877-1977), age 99, died Tuesday in the Salisbury Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Crisfield, she was a daughter of the late George and Nancy Wilson. her husband, James Fulton Sterling, died in 1940. Mrs. Sterling had lived in Washington D.C. for a number of years prior to making her home in Salisbury. She was a member of the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Bethesda and was a life-member of Columbia Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
