Abstract

The Brasure Family Funeral Announcement Collection contains two funeral announcements sent to the Brashure family of Millsboro, Sussex County, DE. The first card, sent to Mr. and Mrs. William Brasure, Sr. of Millsboro, DE, announced the funeral of Benjamin T. Atkins in 1931.The second card, sent to Mr. and Mrs. John Brasure of Millsboro, DE announced the death of Maud E. Marshall of Lewes, DE in 1939.

Biographical History

The son of Elijah Stanton Atkins (1827-1910) of Frankford, DE and Sarah Ann Truitt (1841-1894) of Millsboro, DE, Benjamin Truitt Atkins (1867-1931) died of cardio-vascular renal disease. He married Amelia Abigail Collins (1874-1919) and had nine children: Elijah Stanton, Gertrude Elizabeth, Lula Ester, Paul Powell, Elmer Benjamin, Olena Abigail, Sarah Emily, Oliver and Emily. Maud E. Marshall (1881-1939) was the wife of fisherman George C. Marshall (1877). They had two children: Edward (b1908) and Elizabeth C. (b1909).
