Abstract

The W. Richard and Marianna Holloway papers document their social involvement in the Salisbury, Maryland community, 1906-1978 with the bulk of the material focusing on their active engagement with the Community Concert Association, 1971-1978. Materials also include a journal and photographs from Marianna Holloway’s courtships, correspondence from J. Asbury Holloway as well as photographs and ephemera from the Rounds and Adkins families.

Biographical History

W. Richard “Dick” Holloway (1928-2011) and Marianna Rounds Holloway (1929-2007) were married in 1951. As members of the Eastern Shore community of Salisbury, they served local families through their social involvement in many organizations including the Salisbury Lions Club and the Community Concert Association as well as the third generation of funeral directors at Holloway Funeral Home. Mr. and Mrs. Holloway attended Asbury United Methodist Church and have two children.
