Abstract

The Walston Family History Collection contains genealogical information for the Walston family. Within the collection, there are Walston family member birth, death, and marriage dates. There are also Sons of the American Revolution applications within the collection.

Biographical History

The Walston family started in America upon the arrival of John (born circa 1629), and Margaret Walston, settling at St. Mary's in January 1665. John built "Preston Hall" and obtained a large amount of land from Somerset and modern-day Baltimore Counties in Maryland. Part of his tracts, such as the "Desart" tract, is within the boundaries of modern-day Stepney Parish, across from Kingston Hall. Successive generations settled in Parsonsburg, and Laurel, DE. Boaz Walston was indicated as having fought in the Revolutionary War.
