Abstract

The Brigadier General Woodcock Biography contains a biographical paper titled "The Life of Brigadier General Amos Walter Wright Woodcock". Amos Woodcock discusses his life, from his birth in Salisbury, to his serving in the Spanish American War, World War I, and World War II.

Biographical History

Brigadier General Amos Walter Wright Woodcock was born in October of 1883.  He went to College at St. John's College, University of Maryland Law, and Harvard.  He was an attorney for a while.  He worked in the office of US Senator for Maryland William Jackson.  In 1916 during trouble along the Mexican Border he became a Captain of Company 1 of the 1st Maryland Infantry Division. He would serve as a Lt. Colonel during WWI and a Brigadier General during WWII.  He was professor of Mathematics for a while, as well as Attorney General, then Director of Prohibition. He was President of St. John's college for a few years before WWII broke out.  Brigadier General Woodcock died in 1964.
