This collection is from the City of Salisbury Field Operations, and it contains a number of documents dealing with different aspects of Salisbury's construction and building plans throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. Included are five city directories, appraisal reports for the Franklin Hotel, West Main & Lake streets, construction plans for buildings around the city (including City Hall), and documents and images showing city planning and construction in Salisbury throughout the 20th century.

This collection comes from the City of Salisbury Field Operations. All of these documents, images, and maps will in some way deal with infrastructure, construction, waterworks, or city planning. 

The City of Salisbury collection contains documents and photographs depicting various aspects of Salisbury’s history of the course of the 20th century. Aerial shots and construction images depict city development and local planning.

The collection contains documents pertaining to both the Salisbury obelisk and a mayoral exhibit. The documents pertaining to the Salisbury obelisk contain the plans for the monument, meeting minutes discussing the design, drawings of the proposed design. Mailing lists and invitations to the dedication of the monument are also included. The documents pertaining to the mayoral exhibit contain old letters from the mayor from the 1910s, asking for updates on how the city is doing. Multiple letters and an unfinished book manuscript from the “Official Town Historian”. A brief history of the history of Salisbury and a list of all its previous mayors, as of 2000.

The collection includes documents pertaining to the controversial Lemon Hill Lane standpipe deal with efforts at conservation and restoration that occurred from 2008 – 2009.

Brochures, visitors’ guides, planning maps, and various reports all provide insight into residents’ lives, recreation, and the state of the city’s economy.

The folders are generally arranged by product type or by specific project. They are roughly in chronological order whenever possible.
