Scope and Content Note
This collection includes photographs and ephemera collected by Christopher Moore and document the development of Salisbury, particularly the Downtown Plaza and the “old” Salisbury Mall. The photographs include:
1. A black and white 8x10 photo of Main Street, at Division, from the July 2, 1938. No photographer listed.
2. A black and white 10x17 photo of Main Street, at Division, from December 15, 1957. Photographer: Richard Stacks.
3. A black and white 8x10 photo of Main Street, at Division, from the mid-1960s, pre-Downtown Plaza. Photographer: Robert Kniesche.
4. A black and white 8x11 photo of the Downtown Plaza, taken from the roof of the building at the left corner of Main and Division across from the Wicomico Hotel from about 1969/1970.
5. Two color 8x10 photos of the Benjamins fire on the Downtown Plaza from 1979.

4. A pamphlet from R.E. Powell from the early 1964 promoting the downtown store’s new façade and the company’s anniversary.
5. The 8th Annual Great Salisbury Fireman’s Muster and Olympics, 1989 program.
