Abstract

The Davina Grace Hill collection ranges from 1975 to 2010 with the primary bulk of the content focused on 1980-2006. the collection contains the personal and professional documents of Davina Grace Hill as well as organizational records from the Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council

Administrative History

Established by Sue Hess, the Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council was founded in 1967 and was the first incorporated Arts Council in the state of Maryland. Headquartered in the original City Hall building on St. Peters campus, SWAC recieved the Richard A. Henson award for non-profit excellence in 2014 and was the first arts organization to win the award.

Scope and Content Note

The Davina Grace Hill collection ranges from 1975 to 2010 with the bulk of the content focused on 1980-2006. The collection is separated into two series; Series 1: GRACE HILL PERSONAL ITEMS; and Series 2: SWAC DOCUMENTS. The first series contains the personal and professional documents of Davina Grace Hill while the second series contains organizational records from the Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council (SWAC). Items of particular note include fundraising documents from the SWAC, the Boulevard Theater Renovation, The SWAC policy manual, SWAC events, SWAC newsletters and pamphlets, and Art Beat Columns from Davina Grace Hill.

This collection retains the original folder order and content arrangement and is separated into two series Series 1: GRACE HILL PERSONAL ITEMS; and Series 2: SWAC DOCUMENTS the first series contains the personal and professional documents of Davina Grace Hill while the second series contains organizational records from the Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council (SWAC)
