The Travel Diary of Mary Leive documents the events of Leive's excursions with her husband, John, across Europe and the Middle East from 1929 to 1944. She describes the places she went, the activities she participated in, the weather, prices of various items, and some of the people she met.

Mary lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana from 1928 to 1930 with her husband, John Leive. In 1929, they traveled together around Europe and the Middle East. 

A gift from her sister, the Travel Diary of Mary Leive documents the excursions of her and her husband, John Leive, as they traveled across Europe and the Middle East in 1929. The journal includes autographs of various people that she met during her travels. The autographs include where they were from. Leive listed the hotels she visited during her trips, including: the Madrid at Las Palmas, Hotel de Rome at Seville, I'Armyleterre at Athens, Notre Dame de Paris Jerusalem, and Natunal at Cairo. In the journal, Mary Leive records the dates, weather, and location of her travels and also describes her impressions of the area, the travel itself, and her experience there. She includes descriptions of the people she met and the activities she completed. Mary Leive traveled to many locations such as Egypt, Palestine, Jerusalem, France, Greece, and Italy. Leive also notes the prices of items such as dresses, shawls, vases, perfume, pillows, beads, and pocketbooks. Correspondence is included in the form of postcards from friends in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1928, 1930, and 1944. There is also a letter from a minister, B. Paul Lapp. There are also addresses of people from New York, California, Scotland, and Ohio at the back of the journal.
