Abstract

The Salisbury Business Ephemera collection contains a collection of ephemera from 1890-1987. The ephemera includes receipts, savings checkbooks, photographs, and pieces of memorabilia from 1926-1971. A majority of the collection are receipts from Local businesses in Salisbury.

Scope and Content Note

The Salisbury Ephemera collection documents the history of the local businesses in Salisbury, MD from an economic stance. This collection provides insight on the correspondence between local businesses and records of purchases made from customers. The collection ranges from 1890-1987 and includes letterhead receipts, manuscript receipts, personalized receipts from Helene and Cora Ulman, savings checkbooks, pictures of local businesses, and ephemera dated from 1917-1971. Many of these documents highlighted how local Salisbury businesses documented their spending.
