These two scrapbooks compiled by Charles Emery and Russell Taylor were created circa 1955 and contain images of cars made between 1900 and the 1950s. Pieces in the scrapbooks include images and captions of makes and models, images of cars in advertisements or other settings, and newspaper clippings related to cars and transportation.

These two scrapbooks compiled by Charles Emery and Russell Taylor were created circa 1955 and contain images of cars made between 1900 and the 1950s. A note at the beginning explains that the scrapbook has every make and model of car created from 1900 to "the present;" however, there were no new cars made in 1944 or 1945 due to a "lack of steel." The only automobiles created during the Second World War were government limousines.  The note also highlights the lack of roofs on early cars and describes issues, such as rain, engine trouble and flat tires, drivers may have encountered even on short trips.  Lastly, the note explains that many of the models found in the book are no longer seen, in the 1950s, after production stopped during the Great Depression in the early 1930s. Loose items in scrapbooks were placed in acid free folders and stored with the scrapbooks.
