Abstract

The Mia Vye Ledger collection consists of three ledgers. The first ledger is an inventory of her household items, including her antique collection, from 1977-1987. The second and third ledgers record the purchase and sale of antiques by her grandfather, Frederick "Frank" McSteen, in East Orange, New Jersey from 1913-1936.

Biographical History

Mia Christine Vye was born June 5, 1952 in Washington to Murvyn Vye Jr. and Mary Christine McSteen Vye. She was the granddaughter of Frederick "Frank" McSteen, an antique dealer in East Orange, New Jersey. She graduated from Long Beach California Polytechnic High School and from Colorado College. After college, she taught high school and held a number of positions in college admissions. She served as executive assistant to President Thomas E. Bellavance and as an administrative assistant in the Department of History at Salisbury University. She died on June 8, 2011, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
